A good DIY face scrub can keep your skin fresh and glowing all year long. Scrubs rid of skin of dead cells and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne and wrinkles. Regular exfoliation also helps your moisturizers and serums to work more effectively.
Making your own organic scrub at home is simple, and requires using just a few ingredients that your probably already have.

Here are a few recipes I love.
Oatmeal and Yogurt
Pure colloidal oatmeal is soothing and anti-inflammatory. It’s a great antioxidant and gently cleanses without irritation. Yogurt, has natural lactic acid, and helps to exfoliate dead skin.
This scrub works well for combination skin

Lemon Face Scrub
This scrub is fantastic for getting rid of unwanted blackheads. The antiseptic properties in lemon juice help kill bacteria and reduce inflammation and excess sebum. Be careful not to use to much lemon juice, as overuse can irritate skin, and make sure to apply a good sunscreen after, as it can make skin more sensitive to the sun.

. ½ tsp lemon
. 1 tbsp salt

Directions:
Mix all ingredients well and rub onto skin in a circular motion. Scrub gently for two to three minutes. Rinse with warm water and follow with your normal skincare routine.

Banana oatmeal scrub
This antioxidant banana/oatmeal blend which works well for oily skin.

- Massage into skin in circular motions for 30 to 60 seconds.

How often should I exfoliate?
While a good exfoliation is great for your skin, you want to make sure not to over do it.
For oily skin, 2- 3 times a week is fine, but for drier more sensitive skins, or if your prone to acne, once a week is enough.
Avoid exfoliating if you are sunburned, or if you have any skin that’s broken, chapped or irritated.
